Preamble of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
25 September 2015, UN General Assembly

Greetings of peace from PyeongChang and Odae-san on the Korean Peninsula!
The PyeongChang Odae-san Peace (POP) Dialogue is a voluntary initiative of like-minded civil society actors from among the participants of the PyeongChang Peace Forum (PPF) held in 2019 to 2022.
Odae-san is the name of the high mountain with 5 peaks located in the Odae-San national park in the north of PyeongChang County in Gangwon Province, South Korea. Woljeongsa Temple is located in the Odae-san National Park.

The POP Dialogue can be considered as a follow-up to the PPF to commemorate the PyeongChang Olympics spirit for peace, which is an important legacy of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and Paralympics. The POP Dialogue is composed of two annual forums in February – one international and one Korean – and various events such as POP Challenge, Academy and Retreat.

Under the general theme of “Recreating Peace with the SDGs – Protecting People and the Planet through the Peace-Climate-SDGs Nexus”, the POP Global Forum 2023 will be held virtually from 7 to 10 February 2023, while the POP Korea Forum 2023 will be held virtually from 14 to 16 February 2023 and in-person in Odae-san from 17 to 18 February 2023.

Participants will discuss global issues and challenges related to peace, climate and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the world as well as on the Korean peninsula.
